Ireland’s favourite maths series has been revised for the new Primary Mathematics Curriculum!

New Wave Mental Maths is designed to:

• encourage and develop mental calculation concepts and skills;
• constantly revise the different strands and strand units;
• develop and reinforce problem-solving strategies;
• develop and maintain speed of recall; and
• practise, consolidate, and reinforce mathematical vocabulary and language.

About the 5th Class book

In the 5th Class book, the number of questions per day increases from the 4th Class book, reflecting the expected advancement in the confidence and abilities of the pupils, as well as preparation for senior school.

Advanced primary maths topics are introduced, including 24-hour times, positive and negative numbers, percentages, BIMDAS, improper and equivalent fractions, pie charts, and addition and subtraction of fractions.
